Thanks to all that supported the Forest County Land Conservation Departments annual native plant sale! With the proceeds, we are able to offer one scholarship for the Middle School Youth Conservation Camp this summer. The Middle School Camp will be hosted at Upham Woods in Wisconsin Dells, June 15-18th, 2025. The cost of the camp is $300 and the scholarship will cover the full amount. In order for students to be considered for the scholarship, they must fill out an Application Form and chose a teacher to fill out the Teacher Reference Form. Forest County students and parents can visit the Forest County Land and Water Conservation Website at forestcountylandandwater.org to access the application materials. They can also check out the Forest County Land & Water Conservation Facebook page for a link to the documents. These camps provide positive educational outdoor experiences, foster an appreciation for nature, and introduce a variety of careers in natural resources and conservation. Professionals from various agencies present programs on topics like wildlife, habitat, water quality, fisheries, forestry, orienteering, and canoeing. These professionals, as well as adult volunteers, serve as overnight staff and group leaders for the duration of camp. Campers can make new friends, participate in hands-on activities, practice social & leadership skills, enjoy the outdoors, and just have fun! In order for a student to be considered for the scholarship, both forms will need to be submitted to the Forest County Land Conservation Department on or by Monday, May 5th, 2025. They can be mailed to Forest County Land Conservation at 200 E Madison St, Crandon, WI 54520 or submitted via email to   Pictures are from the 2024 WI Land+Water Middle School Conservation Camp.
