Hello Everyone,
The Wakesports Reform Coalition wanted to end out a quick update. A few days ago, Senate President Mary Felzkowski and Representative Rob Swearingen held listening sessions, which were extremely well attended. The topic that dominated those events was wake enhanced boating. The coalition cannot thank you enough for your participation and attendance and because of your work, we are keeping this issue on the forefront of legislator’s minds. I have attached a write up about the listening sessions from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for your reference as well.
As for current policy activities in the legislature, at this time there is no movement to report. We are monitoring activities daily through our contacts and will be sure to keep everyone updated if we hear of anything changing. What we do expect is the industry bill to drop at some point, that is where we come in and have the bill epically fail, which will then pave the way for conversations surrounding the legislation that we are all working towards.
