Fall Colors in Forest County have peaked in the last few weeks. During the peak color this photo was taken from our drone. The Forest County Land Conservation/Land Information Department has a DJI Matrice 300 RTK drone that has many different uses in the department. With 2 different camera options, features like aerial imagery, zoom, and thermal are easy to capture. This picture is a high-quality picture taken on our P1 camera from about 400 feet above ground level. It was taken October 4th near Wabikon Lake in between Crandon in Laona. US HWY 8 is the highway you see running east to west. The camera is looking northwest and if you look in the distance you can see where the wetlands surround the Otter Springs. Beyond that, in the upper left, is the counties gravel pit and the towers on East Hill in Crandon. I hope you all were able to get outside and enjoy the fall colors while they lasted!
